Job Description

Job Summary:

The Charge Capture Analyst reviews, analyzes and coordinates charge master activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilizes clinical and coding knowledge to ensure accurate and compliant charge items and to recognize and resolve billing inconsistencies.

  • Collaborates with managed care department to code billable items for reimbursement. Collaborates with appropriate staff to secure information for billable items.

  • Analyzes content of reports and software edits to facilitate revisions with appropriate departments.

  • Coordinates projects and audits to improve processes related to revenue cycle, efficiency of charging and billing, and collection efforts.

  • Conducts departmental audits. Ensures RN charge documentation is complete at discharge from assigned departments. Reviews patient charts to determine appropriate charges. Follows up with nursing staff on missing documentation/charges. Reconciles daily reports compared to actual charges, codes and documentation.

  • Reviews and updates departmental charge documents and audits sheets appropriately.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • May be required to be "on-call."

Qualifications

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

  • Preferred Credential(s):

  • Certified Nurse Aide credentialed from the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS).

Education:

  • HS or Equivalent

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required Bachelor''s or Associate''s degree in Business, Finance or Health care-related field is preferred and Four (4) years experience in a clinical setting is required, to include experience with medication records and clinical documentation. College coursework may substitute for up to three (3) years of the required experience on an equivalent year-for-year basis.
