Responsibilities/Qualifications (Career Site Posting):
Demonstrates proficiency in electronic media record use (EPICare, Cadence, Prelude)
Maintains examination rooms appropriately, ordering supplies as needed/directed, and sterilized instruments according to policy.
Escorts patient to exam room and takes vital signs and histories, accurately documenting in EPIC including allergies, medications, surgical history, diagnostic procedures, and ensures that physicians have information needed for patient visit based upon department policy.
Assists with office procedures, including cultures, FNAs, punch biopsies, etc. demonstrating proper sterile technique.
Schedules patient appointments in EPIC according to policy as directored by nurse or physician. Schedules tests as ordered by physician, documents in EPIC as appropriate.
Scans reports and other patient medical records into EPIC accurately and in a timely manner.
Ensures efficient and effective communication by properly triaging patient questions and phone calls to physician or nurse as appropriate and according to department policy. Provides adequate information to physician or nurse for response and properly documents all phone and other messages in EPIC in a timely manner.
May perform additional job related duties as directed or when needs dictate

Education: High School Diploma or GED. Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program;
Experience: AND two years experience or 4 years comparable experience as a medical assistant. Up to two years specific specialty experience may be required.
