The primary purpose of your job position is to provide spiritual care and a pastoral presence to the community at Saint Elizabeth Manor. Your purpose also includes enhancing the quality of life of the residents by developing, directing and implementing volunteer services in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations. This position is considered exempt according to the guidelines set forth by the U.S. Department of Labor under the Fair Labor Standards Act.


Provide regular visitation and pastoral care for residents. Coordinate weekly worship services for all residents. Schedule and provide memorial services. Act as a spiritual resource and support to residents and staff. Make referrals for families to appropriate support systems in times of need. Be on-call for pastoral care at time of death. Provide continuity of care through hospital visitation. Coordinate activities for residents to express their faith service. Provide educational in-services to staff relating to spirituality spiritual needs. Develop a budget ensure that expenses are kept within the budget. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Attendance promptness. Display a commitment to learning improvement by attending and participating in staff meetings, in-services, and seminars. Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information. Ensure resident privacy, respect and dignity. Exemplify excellent customer service. Maintain positive communication with other departments. Shows initiative and works steadily with minimum supervision. Communicate problem areas and shares information, ideas, or suggestions. Maintain a professional demeanor. Follow through on other requests made by the administrator. Follow department policies and procedures including appropriate dress code. Observe and follow infection control procedures safety policies and procedures. Maintain work environment in a clean, orderly, and sanitary manner. QUALIFICATIONS

Must have training and experience regarding the spiritual needs of elders, as well as dementia and other challenges of old age, along with familiarity with systems related to long-term care. A minimum of 2 units of clinical pastoral education or the equivalent is required. Must possess, at a minimum, a college education, theological school education, and/or the educational requirements for their faith community for providing pastoral care and services. Must be familiar with nursing home operations and functions of long-term care departments. PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS

Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday. Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner. Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position. Must possess sight/hearing senses, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of the position can be fully met. Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with the residents, personnel, and support agencies. Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability. Must be able to relate and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the facility. Must be able to bend, kneel, lift, push, pull, and move residents, equipment, supplies, etc., in excess of fifty (50) pounds throughout the work day. Occasionally may lift up to one hundred (100) pounds. Must be able to stand for long periods of time throughout the workday.
