Cooper University Hospital FLIGHT NURSE COORD PRN in Camden, New Jersey

The professional flight nurse coordinator is responsible for the facilitation and coordination of safe and comprehensive care to all patients in the pre-hospital setting and during inter-facility transports by understanding and applying the specialized principles and techniques of emergency rotor wing transport.

The flight nurse coordinator is the team leader for all patient transports and oversees the performance of the flight paramedic.

The flight nurse will be engaged in procedure and policy development, performance improvement activities, clinical competency activities and professional and community

outreach activities.

This position supports organizational goals by participating in safety oriented activities, providing quality customer service, performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.

Scheduled Days / Hours: Variable

Graduate from an NLN accredited school of nursing.

3 years critical care or emergency nursing experience.

Previous flight and/or transport experience preferred.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.

Within weight requirement specified by helicopter operator.

Current New Jersey license as a Registered Nurse, New Jersey Paramedic or Mobile Intensive Care Nurse certification required upon hire or successfully obtained during specified orientation.

Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certification.

PHTLS and ATCN within 1 year of hire.

CEN or CCRN and CFRN certification within 1 year of hire.
