Our growing surgical center is seeking exceptional and highly-skilled Operating Room Registered Nurses for our Ambulatory Surgery Center. We offer PRN (as needed), Part-time, and Full-time positions. With our anticipated expansion we anticipate adding over 15 OR RN positions over the next 24 months.

Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

The OR Registered Nurse, is accountable for the provision of nursing care in the assigned intra-operative areas of the surgery center. Our healthcare teammates are dedicated to exceeding the expectations of our patients while meeting their individualized health and surgical needs in collaboration with our physicians and facility administrative procedures. Our Operating Room Nurses serve as a resource to the healthcare team for complex decision making and they are committed to establishing individualized plans of care for the patient undergoing a surgical procedure.

  1. Uses the nursing process including: assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide safe effective outcomes

  2. Administers and charts medications as ordered by the physician, reinforces and clarifies physician instructions and explanation of procedures to patient and companion.

  3. Demonstrates appropriate knowledge and competence of designated skills identified for a Registered Nurse position in the SURGICAL SUITES. This would include patient care duties, the ability to provide care in emergency situations and based upon age-specific needs utilizing a developmental perspective.

  4. Maintains and evaluates their own clinical expertise and clinical practice, demonstrates the importance of continuing education to the performance of facility responsibilities and professional growth.

  5. Conducts quality review audits as assigned by the manager or designee, conscientiously and continuously applies the principles and skills learned during CQI training on a daily basis.

  6. Maintains flexibility with scheduling and job assignments in order to cover patient needs. Ability to work in multiple perioperative areas.

  7. Fosters a positive and professional ambulatory surgery center environment by interacting with all persons in a considerate, helpful and courteous manner and by participating as a team member. Must have an award-winning smile and personality with an unrequited commitment to clinical excellence and outcomes.

  8. Participates in committees, work groups and meetings as deemed necessary. Consistently demonstrates results and the achievement of target dates. Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team and takes part in shared leadership.

  9. Successfully completes required competencies required of the position, obtains laboratory, EKG, radiology studies requested by physician according to policy.

Qualifications:

Education – Required:

  • Associates degree or Diploma in Nursing from an accredited university, college or school.

  • Current, unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina or compact license agreement.

Skills – Required:

  • Exceptional Clinical Skills

  • Basic computer literacy to include proficiency in the following skills:

  • Send and Receive Company Email

  • Access and chart by electronic methods

  • Electronic collection, analysis and tracking of data

  • Create basic Word Processing Document

Education - Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or another related field

  • ACLS/PALS Certification

Experience:

  • Previous work experience in an ambulatory care surgical setting or acute care hospital operating room OR

  • Previous work experience in a hospital Critical Care setting
