Rush University Medical Center and the Rush Leadership Academy are seeking a self-motivated and conscientious*_Operations Manager! _*
This position is responsible for managing the operations of the Rush Learning and Leadership Academy. The Operations Manager oversees one direct report and one matrix report as well as learning technologies and learning vendors. This role reports to the Director of the Rush Learning and Leadership Academy and works collaboratively with the Leadership Development and Learning Consultants who are responsible for program design, development and delivery.
Position Responsibilities Include:
Manages all operations of Rush Learning and Leadership Academy in order to identify opportunities for cost savings or process efficiencies leveraging Lean concepts. This entails streamlining, mapping and documenting processes as well as creating checklists to ensure a standardized and consistent program experience.
Manages learning technologies and vendors which include the Learning Management System (LeapOnline) as well as the inventory of materials such as online assessments. This also involves responsibility for reviewing and negotiating vendor agreements and identifying new e-learning technologies to implement such as webinar, adobe connect, mobile learning and a new LMS, etc. Oversees continuing education processes and departmental surveys including reporting, evaluations, and reviewing feedback with faculty and design team. Shares continuous improvement suggestions.
Manages the budgeting process by working with the Director of the Rush Learning and Leadership Academy to create an annual budget each fiscal year. Oversees interdepartmental and external billing, reviewing monthly financial reports and investigates variances and errors.
Oversees the Education Coordinator as well as the external customer support associate (contractor) who is responsible for managing the leap online mailbox.
Oversees all logistics for weekly new employee orientation and all leadership programs.
Position Qualifications Include:
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in education, technology, business or operations; Master’s degree or comparable experience strongly preferred.
Minimum of 5years of experience in learning and development operations preferably in a healthcare or other large complex organizational setting. Experience includes database management, working with educational technologies especially learning management systems, managing a budget, writing requirements (RFPs) and evaluating vendors against a defined set of criteria. Knowledge of Microsoft office products and survey tools (i.e. Survey Monkey, Qualtrics, etc.)
Excellent technology, project management, time management, and negotiation skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with strong organization and attention to detail. Supervisory experience.
Ability to influence and work with employees and leaders from all levels of the organization.
Proven success in holding people accountable as well as building relationships with customers and internal clients.
Has a systems thinking, innovative approach, and looks for continuous improvement opportunities. Ability to think creatively as well as analytically in order to troubleshoot/problem solve.
