Position Id 2017-sc434 Job summaryJob description/Responsibilities: Job Summary: The Administrative Assistant works with the Charge Nurse, as well as the Cardiac rehabilitation staff to ensure compliance with goals and objectives established by the department. Communicates effectively, in writing, verbally, and via telephone, with all levels of personnel and visitors. Able to input and retrieve computerized data. Coordinates the throughput of each patient from scheduling, insurance and co-payment management, and medical record maintenance. Maintenance of department statistics, charge reconciliations, and regulatory compliance requirements for medical record management, coding and billing. Responsibilities: 1.Assists with daily operations, answering and screening phone calls, handling staff, visitors and patients in a courteous manner.2. Assists with data collection required by the department within the designated time frame.3. Accurately types, compiles and distributes reports and correspondence. Formats and types forms for departments, as requested.5.Maintains an orderly and organized work area.6.Consistently is attentive to detail, record keeping and required paperwork inherent to the position.7.Demonstrates ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations.9.Assist with patients, physicians, employees* concerns or issues as they relate to hospital operations. Ensure the follow- through of the issues being delegated to appropriate personnel.10.Schedules outpatient appointments. Coordinates scheduling with other departments when needed.11.Greets patients and visitors and informs therapists of their arrival. Collects intake for new patients and manages insurance pre-authorization and verification. Creates an organized and compliant medical record for use during the patient*s encounter.12. Maintains a current working knowledge regarding various insurance coverage plans* rules and forms, including but not limited to pre-authorization requirements and co-payment requirements.13.Receives, records, reconciles, and deposits co-payments according to department protocol.14.Scans all required paperwork into RAS.15.Accurately enters information into SERIES to ensure effective reimbursement. This includes, but is not limited to application of modifiers and G-codes upon attestation of the therapist, late charge entries, and Medicare MSPQ.16.Maintains contemporaneous logs and records of all department statistics, including treatments, visits, physician referrals, productivity, waiting lists, billing and procedure logs.
