Health Center Director, Galena, Alaska Provide leadership & management for the Edgar Nollner Health Center, a sub-regional specialty clinic in Galena, Alaska. Galena is located on the north bank of the Yukon River, 45 miles east of Nulato and 270 air miles west of Fairbanks in Alaska s beautiful Interior Region. This position supervises about 15 people including physician, physician assistant, several ancillary medical staff, several administrative personnel, and multiple behavioral health clinicians. Direct reports include staff located in Galena and surrounding sub-regions. The Tanana Chiefs Conference has an extensive rural health care system to support health and promote wellness to Indian Health Service beneficiaries Alaska Natives & American Indians, as well as many non-beneficiaries, in 42 villages situated across the river systems of the Interior (Yukon, Koyukuk, Kuskokwim, Tanana and more). Oversee primary care, urgent care, behavioral health, community health, nursing, billing and registration Coordination and scheduling of primary care providers to Kaltag, Nulato, Koyukuk, Huslia & Ruby Prepare budgets, reports, grant and quality compliance Handle patient and staff complaints and concerns Establish good working relationships and communications with Tribal Leaders and Public Health partners Tanana Chiefs Conference will provide training and support for the duties tasked in this position. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor s Degree in health related field; or equivalent combination of relevant education, training and experience which provides the capabilities to perform the described functions. Three years of supervisory experience in a clinical, tribal or healthcare setting required. Knowledge of federal personnel policies, procurement, and management systems. Demonstrated experience with developing, implementing and monitoring multiyear Strategic plan. Demonstrated experience developing, implementing and monitoring quality improvement initiatives. Familiar with federal and state grant application and reporting particularly 330 and behavioral health grants. Must pass background check pursuant to federal Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act requirements. $80,000 to $128,000 annual salary DOE, Exceptional Benefits, profit sharing.
