Longview Adult Care Facility Resident Aide/CNA/HHA - RECRUITMENT in Ithaca, New York
Ithacare (Longview Adult Care Facility) will be holding OPEN INTERVIEWS on Tuesday, August 22nd from 1pm-4pm at the Cortland Career Center located at 99 Main St in Cortland.
Ithacare dba Longview, a residential senior retirement community, is currently seeking qualified candidates for full time or part time Resident Aide, CNA's or HHA's positions.
Under the supervision of the Nursing Supervisor, the position requires the assisting of residents in activities of daily living. This position also performs some housekeeping activities and other duties as assigned. Any direct care staff at Ithacare has the possibility of being mandated to work a longer than normal shift.
JOB DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES;
Assists residents in bathing, dressing, laundry, and other activities of daily living as indicated in the resident's Individualized Service Plan. Works with Nursing, Case Managers and the Director of Resident Services in reviewing resident's needs such as reporting changes in condition and / or participates in establishing interventions for residents. Upholds resident rights as stipulated in New York State Department of Health regulations, i.e., to protect and respect dignity and confidentiality of residents.
May be eligible for medication administration training. If certified to assist residents with medications, must be able to carry out orders from physicians and follow through with accurate transcription of such.
Must participate in all mandatory monthly in-servicing / review of Emergency Disaster Plan.
Must pass be able to pass a background check and pre-employment physical including PPD testing. Must be able to work as a team member, be able to work and delegate as necessary with other employees. Must also be able to physically lift, push and/or pull up to seventy pounds.
Compensation dependent upon experience and responsibility.

8. Must complete prescribed Red Cross/First Aid/AED training and blood borne pathogen training within three months of hire.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
Qualifying experience includes one or more of the following (minimum high school education required):
Certified Nurse's Aide
Certified Home Health Aide
Previous experience caring for the elderly
Training or experience in care of personal needs and human services
