Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers, Colorado's largest and most comprehensiveprovider of cancer care has an exciting opportunity for a Medical Assistant inour radiation department in Lakewood.ESSENTIAL DUTIES:-Assist clinician and physician with patient care duties. -Escorts patients toand from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment room asappropriate.-Records patient data prior to each physician visit, includingbut not limited to, vital signs, height, weight, allergies, andmedication changes. -Obtains all necessary patient records as required byphysician and verifies presence of consent prior to treatment or procedures.-Prepares and stocks exam/treatment rooms and orders supplies as needed. -Schedules patient tests, procedures and schedules appointments to follow-upon receipt of test results, as applicable.-Scan medical records into EMR.-Assists with select pre-authorizations and pre-certifications as needed.Informs physician of patient reschedules and no shows. -Obtains new patientrecords and previous test results, x-rays, scans, etc. -Performs otheradministrative duties, i.e. typing, filing faxing reception, etc, as requestedQUALIFICATIONS:High school graduate or equivalent. Certificate of graduation from anaccredited program for Medical Assistants strongly preferred. Minimum twoyears experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant in a hospital orclinic setting. Phlebotomy experience preferred. Current CPR certificationrequired.All candidates are required to pass a drug screening and background checkprior to hire.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must bemet by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of thisjob.
