JOB REQUIREMENTS: Assess patient health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records. Administer nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients. May advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention or provide case management. RN - Inpatient - Radiology - 60% FTE, Evening/Night - 170021Y8 DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: The RN - Inpatient systematically and continuously collects and assesses data in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to provide therapeutic care with the patient and/or family. He/she performs all required elements of a nursing assessment specific to the planned procedure including a physical assessment, assessment of readiness to learn, psychosocial assessment, functional assessment and pain assessment. The RN - Inpatient is an active member of the multidisciplinary team and collaborates in the development, execution and evaluation of the multidisciplinary plan of care or critical pathway. The RN - Inpatient considers factors related to safety, effectiveness and cost in planning and delivering care. The RN - Inpatient's decisions and actions with patients and families are determined in an ethical manner. The RN - Inpatient establishes goals and strategies for meeting the discharge or continuing care needs of the patient, family, and/or other care provider. The RN - Inpatient provides care in collaboration with nursing staff members and other health care providers in accordance with nurse practice acts and the professional nursing role. He/She delegates and supervises care in accordance with nurse practice acts and the professional nursing role. The RN - Inpatient utilizes research findings in his/her practice. He/she demonstrates knowledge of and participates in Improving Organizational Performance activities. The RN - Inpatient acquires and maintains knowledge in nursing practice and assumes responsibility for the professional development of self, other nursing staff and students. Work Schedule: 60% FTE, 24 hours. Evening/Night, 8/10/12 hour shifts. This shift will rotate Nights and Evenings. Most of the shifts will be 12 hour nights from 7:00 pm - 7:30 am. Some PM shifts will be required between 9:00 am - 11:30 pm. Weekends are required. Limited call shifts will vary due to department needs. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department. UW Health offers a competitive compensation and benefits package. Call response time of 60 minutes. Exclusive to procedures in the Neuro Angio Suite: Call response time of 30 minutes from pager activation to arrival, dressed in scrubs and reported to D4/312.
