Position Description :

Join our team of nurses at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center's PACU!

The Clinical Nurse II operates as the primary and/or associate nurse within the professional practice model demonstrating the core values of the UPHS to ensure an excellent patient experience.

Utilizing the Nursing Process in the planning and delivery of care, tasks include, but are not limited to coordinating patient care, demonstrating safe practice, developing a nurse-patient/family relationship, applying clinical leadership and problem solving. The Clinical Nurse II complies with all regulations and standards of regulatory and accrediting bodies, and maintains a safe level of knowledge and skill with technical procedures.

Performance will be assessed within the following areas: clinical judgment and decision-making, nurse-patient/family relationship, clinical leadership and clinical scholarship. Opportunities for advancement exist as competency is developed and skills are mastered.

Minimum Requirements :

The qualified candidate must be a graduate of a NLNAC and CCNE accredited school of professional nursing, have a BSN, and licensure as a registered professional nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Experience as an RN for two years in critical care units or PACU. BLS and ACLS required. Proof of critical care course taken.

The PACU provides a safe and comfortable environment for both patient and personnel in order to provide optimum assistance to the Surgeons and Anesthesiologists in meeting the emergency, preventive and restorative health needs of the patients.

We are a 20 bed unit. We collaborate with anesthesia and surgical personnel to provide Phase I recovery care to a variety of surgical patients, including: ENT, General Surgery, Gynecological, Ophthalmic, Oral, Orthopedic, Thoracic, Vascular, and Urological Procedures and other invasive procedures, including robotics.
