This position is responsible for managing the logistics of space planning, employee/Physician/departmental relocation and coordination of operational business plans as they relate to space planning and relocation. Provides logistics management expertise including leadership and consistent use of standard tools and methodology. Responsible for working with all levels of the organization across diverse areas to implement solutions.

Requires a bachelor's degree in business, computer science or related field. Minimum of 4 years project/logistics management experience in a healthcare environment with knowledge of healthcare and/or information technology. Experience in medium scale project planning and reporting either individual or team. Excellent communication and presentation skills to engage non-technical and/or technical audiences and effectively interact across facilities and at various levels.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for managing the logistics of space planning, employee/Physician/departmental relocation and coordination of operational business plans as they relate to space planning and relocation. Provides logistics management expertise including leadership and consistent use of standard tools and methodology. Responsible for working with all levels of the organization across diverse areas to implement solutions.

Essential Functions

  • Plans, manages, and coordinates multiple assigned functional projects simultaneously, ensuring that stated goals and objectives of projects are accomplished within prescribed time frames and operational parameters, which includes: reviewing project proposals/plans to ensure they fit within the campus master plan; identifying and managing resource allocation needs; formulating and defining operational scope and objectives; identifying and scheduling project resources; and/or performing other related items associated with various project phases.

  • Provides leadership, project planning and expertise in the development, implementation, oversight, and evaluation of facility-based projects related to clinical process, projects and program development/improvement. Incorporates best practices and responds to emerging trends to enhance operations, programs, and/or services. Implements and evaluates strategic programs, develops effective tools to measure performance, analyzes related data, prepares reports, and makes recommendations to senior leadership based on findings. Creates, develops and executes communication plans to ensure key stakeholder awareness. Serves as the primary liaison between the administrative team and staff. Fosters an environment that results in team cohesiveness and motivation.

  • Manages and controls operational progression to successful completion, including: identifying required tools and methods; monitoring schedules and budgets for compliance with established constraints; identifying and communicating lessons learned; developing transitioning plan from project to production; managing project documentation; and/or, performing other related activities.

  • Administrates data base of all space needs on campus. This includes all employee/Physician/Residency/Clinic and department moves. Seeks opportunities to efficiently manage resources in a space constrained and complex regulatory environment. Influences variety of stakeholders in administering space requests.

  • Develops and analyzes data for administrative and clinical decision making, as well as regulatory requirements. Coordinates implementation of data collection processes: provide analysis, summary, research and benchmarking. Prepares and present reports for appropriate facility, system, and other external agencies. Provides oversight to projects including data abstracting and data entry as appropriate.

  • Participates in the budgetary process and helps meet annual budgetary goals. Translates organizational plans, goals, and initiatives into assumptions for annual operating and/or capital budgets. Negotiates contracts with external vendors for products and/or services and monitors/evaluates quality and/or performance. Manages and reports expenditures. Directs and participates in the development, implementation, and consistent application of effective organizational policies, procedures, and practices. Develops and supports internal controls to ensure that assets are safeguarded, policies and operating procedures are followed, necessary controls are effective and efficient, and compliance with current laws and regulations is achieved.

  • Coordinates, plans and facilitates meetings with operational teams and coordinates the interaction with other departments using proven tools and techniques. Makes presentations to large audiences as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Must possess strong business and project management knowledge as normally obtained through the completion of a bachelor's degree in business, computer science or related field.

Requires a minimum of 4 years project/logistics management experience in a healthcare environment or an equivalent combination of relevant education, technical, business and healthcare experience.

Must demonstrate general knowledge of healthcare and/or information technology. Needs experience in medium scale project planning and reporting either individual or team. Requires communication and presentation skills to engage non-technical and/or technical audiences. Requires ability to communicate and interact across facilities and at various levels.

Preferred Qualifications

Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
