Position Information

The role of the Respiratory Therapist in the Respiratory Care Services department encompasses responsibility for administering respiratory care within the scope their scope of practice under a physician's order including, but not limited to, all types of oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, advanced airway management, arterial puncture and analysis, ECG's and mechanical ventilation of adult/geriatric patients. The therapist plans, implements, and evaluates the effectiveness of therapy, with communication to the physician and health care team. Completion of age specific competencies is required. The staff Therapist understands the needs of the organization and supports the mission, vision, and values in the management of patient care.

Experience Requirements :

Completion of all clinical rotations during Respiratory Care school required. Previous clinical Respiratory Care experience in an emergency care setting preferred.

Education Required :

Completion of the educational requirements for credentialing by the National Board of Respiratory Care is required. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required.

Licensure/Certification Requirements :

North Carolina license required for all Respiratory Care Practitioners. BLS and NC RCP licenses required prior to employment. ACLS, PALS, and NRP required within one month of employment.

Hours of Work :

One (1) 12 hour shift/ 7:00am - 7:00pm

Weekend Requirements :

Every Fourth

Call Requirements :

every 4th weekend
