The Sr. Project Manager (“PM”) for Implementation Readiness is responsible for implementation readiness in accordance with BD new product development process from concept through launch. This includes contribution to user needs, development of implementation processes and implementation support for Limited Commercial Release (“LCR”) sites. Assists cross functional teams by providing PM expertise related to interoperability and Alaris™ integrated solutions. This may include presentations and discussions with key individuals or groups to address issues and/or concerns (e.g., Business Unit Leaders, 3rd Party Vendor Partners, and Hospital C-Suite).
Effectively partners with marketing leaders, R&D, Medical Affairs, Business Process, and across business unit platforms to ensure development of new products and/or services meet customer needs and can be deployed successfully.
Helps define implementation scope and timeline (e.g., integration, migration, workflow automation) for new products and services; ensures customer value is derived with each new implementation service offering.
Subject Matter Expert contributing to creation of installation/implementation processes for related services and products.
Identifies potential project risks (e.g., quality, time to market, business infrastructure) associated with new product implementation; recommends plan to mitigate risks and escalates as needed.
Contributes to LCR and Product launch plans in accordance with BD new product development process, includes: helping identify business success metrics. Supports execution and delivery of services during LCR and/or Controlled Releases globally, leading a project team of up to 5.
Supports hospital education and go-live for assigned projects; documents lessons learned to help drive future training materials.
Supports New Product Readiness, including creation of collateral tools to support new products and services from a PM perspective.
Maintain customer relationships for any assigned accounts, delivering a high level of customer service at, or above expectations, while demonstrating accountability for their part in the BD new product development process.
Performs other ad-hoc duties as assigned.
Provides basic HL7 message interpretation and failure resolution to customers, includes having the ability to escalate to technical SME when appropriate.
Establish and maintain global network of contacts in hospitals and with peers to keep up to date with clinical/IT needs, clinical/IT trends, and innovations in the safe delivery of infusion therapy through the use of complex medical devices, software applications and technology.
Collaborates with clinical, IT, biomed, and informatics hospital staff to ensure implementation processes encompass end-to-end workflow for all potential end users. .
Supports IT staff in the installation of Servers (VMs, hosted, software only) and facilitates end-to-end system testing.
Partners with 3rd party vendors to establish relationship as well as mutually agreed upon processes/collateral.
Significantly influences customer acceptance and utilization of integrated products and services in multi-site and/or complex environments.
Leads the post-sales assessment, design, implementation and monitoring of products and services in assigned LCR accounts.
Mentors internal associates regarding best demonstrated practices.
Initiates discussion to obtain in-depth customer feedback for product and service improvement opportunities. Provides feedback to Manager for continuous improvement of implementation methodology and tools.
Assists Marketing and the Medication Safety Center with building references for best practices and develops metrics to support the value of Guardrails™ software and integration to 3rd party systems. Works closely with reference site staff to develop case study reports on their clinical experience. Works with reference sites to complete outcome studies as designated by Marketing.
Supports Marketing-led, customer-driven Thought Leadership Councils, by providing PM-related best practice recommendations and workflow enhancements; serve as Alaris thought leader by leading customer speaking engagements at tradeshows and industry conferences.
Provides product and service education to facilitate technology adoption and workflow change management.
Nursing or IT degree preferred.
MBA preferred or 5+ years New Product Development experience.
Experienced in an acute care hospital setting with informatics, hospital information systems, or IT required.
10+ years of experience in related field.
Prior experience with the use, troubleshooting, and education of the Alaris™ System and Guardrails™ Editor software and Pyxis MedStation™ EX preferred.
Home-based position in San Diego. Ability to travel up to 80% of the time is required including some weekends.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and meet BD's auto safety standards.
