*For a limited time, Behavioral Health Associates hired after March 1stare eligible for a $2000 bonus!This is a part time, evening position during the week, working 2:30- 11:00pm, including every other weekend shifts and rotating holidays. The Behavioral Health Associate (BHA) under the direction of the Registered Nurse and/or Coordinator provides direct and indirect care of patients age five to eighteen to meet their physical, educational, psychosocial and spiritual needs. Supports patient care needs by performing delegated patient care and non-patient care tasks. Responsible for assisting the patient care team in the treatment and care of patients and families in accordance with established policies, procedures, and unit standards to provide quality care. Implements and abides by Customer Service Standards. Supports and implements patient safety and other safety practices as appropriate. Supports and demonstrates Family Centered Care principles when interacting with patients and their families and with co-workers. EDUCATIONHigh School diploma or equivalent required. Two years of college with courses in psychology, sociology, addictions, and/or social work or comparable job experience preferred.EXPERIENCESix months experience in nursing assistant or similar role preferred. Experience with computers and typing skills preferred. Must be able to effectively handle escalating behavior and utilize physical safety holds with aggressive patients. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTSCurrent American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider card required prior to completion of unit orientation. Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training (NCI) initial and on-going training required and provided. Any persons who have direct client contact must have been free of chemical use problems for at least the one year immediately preceding their hiring and must sign a statement attesting to that fact. Chemical use problems includes the following: 1. Receiving treatment for chemical use within the period specified for the position in the staff qualification requirements; 2. Chemical use that has a negative impact on the employees job performance; 3. Chemical use that affects the credibility of the treatment services with clients referral sources or other members of the community; and 4.
