Assists the Director in ensuring the standard of care for patients on the Nursing Unit. Also assists in the education and mentoring of the nursing staff. For example: * Bedside shift report observed daily and validate M in the box. Verbal coaching for bedside shift report and M in the box. --* Central Line charting checked for both shifts daily. Dressings and IV tubing checked for appropriate labeling and site condition daily---* Foley catheter charting for both shifts checked daily and foley catheter checked for seal intact, stat lock, and labeled daily. MD order checked daily and closely follow all that have a 24-48 hr order. --* Daily chart auditing for both shifts- she attached audit list. For missed charting staff receives notice * see attached form. ---* Check pending labs daily and monitor central line insertion orders.--* Check critical labs result reporting daily.--* PCA bedside report observed 2 times a week by myself, the charge nurse and ADP observe other days. ---* PCA charting is checked for CHG bath, AM Care, I&O, daily weights, and meal consumption.--* Monitor/validate hourly rounding, ensure the staff is completing--* Identify areas that staff could improve in and coordinate with DPC to help the process or with education if its clinical.
