Expected Weekly Hours:
The Nurse Practitioner assists the designated attending Physician with overall daily operations in the practice and hospital. He/she will perform physical examinations and assessments on adults and adolescents over the age of 13. Administers quality medical care within the scope of practice. He/she will demonstrate keen clinical diagnostic judgment and understanding of the concepts of disease prevention and health promotion issues within the practice while administering quality patient care. He/she will support GI and Urology physicians for all inpatient consults and follow up for inpatient hospital patients.

Job Specific Accountabilities include, but are not limited to :
Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's clinical problems and health care needs
Prescribes or recommends drugs or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, psychological evaluations, or related therapeutic procedures
Documents all medical evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatment, outcomes, education, referrals, and consultations consistent with NCQA (National Committee for Quality Assurance), TJC (The Joint Commission), and state regulatory standards
Documents management of the patient by including physical assessment, diagnostic tests, results, evaluation of progress, and plan of care
Job Requirements :
Maintains certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner
Maintains licensure as above in the state of Delaware
Maintains prescriptive authority in the state of Delaware
Maintains federal DEA number
Maintains BLS and ACLS certification
Completes annual job specific and age specific competencies
