Job Details:POSITION DESCRIPTION POSITION SUMMARY Must possess the skills and abilities to engage in the nursing process including but not limited to the assessment, nursing analysis, planning, nursing intervention and evaluation in the promotion and maintenance of the patient's health across the continuum of life. Must have the skills needed to supervise and delegate appropriate functions to subordinate personnel. Must have the skills/abilities to evaluate and ensure that the medical plan of care is carried out. Must have the educational, physical and mental capabilities to perform procedures common to their nursing unit. Must complete department specific competency validation checklists within four (4) month probationary period or as designated per topic.RN performs wound assessments and provides wound care for the infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient according to the direction and orders of a Wound Care Physician and the standards of the Wound Care Department and hospital policy. REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION Required: RN Basic Life Support (BLS), required within 90 days of employment Preferred: BSN LICENSURE and CERTIFICATION Required: Current Montana or National licensure, registration, or certification in an allied health profession or RN Licensure Preferred: EXPERIENCE Required: Demonstrates competence in and a willingness and ability to practice modified primary nursing. 3 to 5 years of experience providing patient care for the infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and/or geriatric patient in a clinical or academic setting Preferred: Documented wound care treatment experience or HBO experience ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 100% Time Spent - Performs assessments and physician ordered diagnostics on patients to gather data relevant to patient's individual needs and disease process. Provides patient care according to the assessment data, physician orders and the plan of care. Documents plan of care, assessment data, patient care, interventions, and evaluations in the medical record. Evaluates the patient's response to interventions. Participates in teaching the patient and family. Participates in continuing education and in-service training in order to maintain current knowledge/skills to perform job responsibilities.
